Traveling as a digital nomad is extremely exciting and very rewarding, however, without the right coworking space, you can be left feeling very frustrated. This is why we’ve spent the time visiting and documenting some of the best coworking spaces in the world below.
The atmosphere is absolutely EVERYTHING when it comes to coworking spaces as a digital nomad. Your coworking space should keep you productive and make you want to get work done, otherwise, you could be left struggling and falling behind. There are a few “must haves” when it comes to coworking spaces, like wifi, and then there are the “nice to haves”, like coffee.
If you’re traveling somewhere that’s not listed below, we suggest doing research on finding the best coworking space before you go. This allows you to choose accommodations that are close to the coworking space, allows you to scope out the safety of the area, and gives you an idea of what you can expect.
Yellow Connect, Chiang Mai, Thailand
This “Google style”, state-of-the-art working space is an absolute must-visit if you’re in Chiang Mai. There are many amenities, such as high-speed internet, cold and hot drinks plus snacks, international sockets, YouTube rooms for streaming, Skype booths for calls, lockers, showers, and even networking events on the weekends.
The best part of this place is that they have a lush garden right outside for you to maximize your creativity and enjoy your time. It’s a proven fact that time outside and time with plants increases productivity.
Yellow Connect is in the heart of the city and in one of Chiang Mai’s trendiest neighborhoods. A day pass will cost you about $8 USD but if you’re staying for a while, a monthly pass is about $100 USD and gets you a free coffee every day.
Tropical Nomad, Canggu, Bali
Located in the heart of Canggu, this beautiful building with a tropical ambience is located and ready for digital nomads from all over the world. This spot has 24/7 access with a monthly membership, access to meeting rooms and Skype rooms, has printers and scanners, and an absolutely beautiful view. It’s bright, it’s open, and there are two floors. So many different creatives and digital nomads use this space, you’re bound to meet someone cool!
The high-speed wifi is the cherry on top of this beautiful space. You can choose from daily, hourly, or unlimited coworking memberships. A daily pass will cost you about $12 USD and an hourly pass package starts at $45 USD. The unlimited access pass is about $175 USD.
La Vaca, Barcelona, Spain
Promoting art, fitness, networking, and community, this coworking space in Barcelona is absolutely perfect for a digital nomad. It is located in the Poble Sec area and actually used to be a dairy shop. It has high-speed wifi, meeting rooms, scanners, printers, drinks like coffee and tea, Skype rooms, and special events and activities. What a dream!
At La Vaca, your day pass will cost you about $17 USD or you can get a month for about $180 USD. They also have flexible packages available.
WorkingUP, Quito, Ecuador
With great views of the surrounding valley, this beautiful coworking space is perfect for digital nomads. They have free coffee (I mean, you can’t go wrong with free coffee), a kitchen, Skype rooms, printers, scanners, and beanbags for lounging. Additionally, they have other things to do like play ping pong or chill on the terrace. The best part - is they’re pet friendly, make sure to soak up all the cuddles you can or bring along your furry friend!
Their wifi is fast and their coffee is strong, so you’ll definitely get a lot of work done there. A day pass at this location will cost you $10 USD and a month of unlimited access will cost you around $100 USD.
Selina, Medellin, Columbia
Selina is known around the globe by digital nomads as a coworking-friendly hostel, and this is no exception. This location is large, welcoming, and absolutely beautiful. In addition to the wifi available, there are printing stations, Skype rooms, an on-site cafe, and 24/7 access. The best part of this location is the wellness area. This is where they offer yoga classes, fitness classes, and meditation classes (at a small additional cost). In addition to coworking, Selina has rooms for you to sleep in if you’re looking for somewhere to stay.
A daily pass is around $10 USD and a monthly pass is around $145 USD. Extra activities cost $6-10 per session.
Workhub, Lisbon, Portugal
At Workhub, you just need to worry about getting work done, they take care of the rest. They have super fast internet, meeting rooms, kitchen space, scanners and printers, a bike area, and many more amenities. They offer both productive spaces and relaxation spaces, the perfect mix for digital nomads that are working all day.
There is also tons of natural light and friendly staff on site, plus, it’s open 24/7. A day pass is about $16 USD and you can come in anytime between 9 am and 6 pm. A monthly pass starts at $125 USD for 9 am to 6 pm access or $175 for 24/7 access.
256 Hub, Yerevan, Armenia
256 Hub is THE place for creators. The workspace is beautiful, there are many innovative people working there, and the amenities are just what you need. There is high-speed wifi, Skype rooms, standing desks, an onsite restaurant, and it has 24/7 access. If you need a break, they have a chill-out zones and a terrace you can chill on as well. Trust me, you’ll love chilling out after a few hours of work.
The cost for a day pass at 256 Hub is about $8 USD and a monthly pass is about $90 USD. You can also join in on any of their community workshops, meals, drinks, and programs for an additional cost.
Impact Hub, Prague, Czech Republic
Although this space can get a little lively and loud at times, Impact Hub has a quiet area downstairs for concentration. There is an amazing community of entrepreneurs in the space and for amenities, you have high-speed wifi, self-service coffee and snacks, and tons of places to sit and relax.
A day pass here will cost you about $20 USD and a monthly pass will cost around $190 USD. Obviously, if you’re staying for a month or longer, a monthly pass will give you the best bang for your buck.
Lokal, Tbilisi, Georgia
With a community of locals, digital nomads, and expats, Lokal is much more than just a coworking space. There are both indoor and outdoor workspaces and coffee and tea is included. Add that with the high-speed wifi and you have the perfect coworking space! There are also call and meeting rooms that are available to be booked and outlets at each desk.
If you’re headed to Lokal, a daily pass will cost you about $10 USD and a monthly pass will cost you $160 USD. Both passes include all amenities, but the monthly pass gives you access to a second building with a kitchenette.
De Beauvoir Block, London, England
We couldn’t give you a list of coworking spaces without including a spot in London, England, the best city for coworking. De Beauvoir Block is relatively newer to the coworking scene, but its pink hue attracts many different digital nomads, ready to get work done. On-site, you can find high-speed wifi, an onsite staff member, outdoor and indoor space, meeting rooms, and security for added protection.
The space is directly between two very different settings. On one side, you’ll find lively bars and vintage shops, on the other side you’ll find quiet squares and gastropubs - a perfect mix! The cost for a day pass is about $17 USD and for a monthly, the cost is about $135 USD.
If you’re traveling to one of these locations, we definitely suggest that you check out these coworking spaces. However, make sure to check out a few coworking spaces in the area before choosing one to stay at, as mentioned above, the atmosphere is very important.
